UK retailer Carphone Warehouse is to trial two new concept stores next month as part of a multi-million pound investment to transform its retail business, Mobile News reported.
If successful, the new format could roll out to all 750 outlets as part of an “enormous” investment, managing director Jeremy Fennell told the news service.
Mobile News said Fennell hinted at Carphone giving more priority to accessories and its MVNO iD Mobile in the future.
Fennell also said that the company, which this year overhauled its web platform, has had success selling home broadband and television, generating over 10,000 subscriptions during certain weekends.
Parent company Dixons Carphone issued a trading update in September when it revealed that sales in the 13 weeks to 30 July rose 9 percent year-on-year.
