Orange first operator in Spain to offer both Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE

Orange Spain has announced that it’s the first operator in the country to offer its customers both VoLTE (Voice over Long Term Evolution) and Wi-Fi calling technology over its 4G and 4G+ network. The advanced calling technology has been available at no extra charge to both iOS and Android users since the end of January.
Currently, the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, SE, 6s, 6s Plus, 7 and 7Plus, plus the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and Sony Xperia X and XZ can run the technology, with Orange promising to make available more compatible handsets in the next few weeks.
Thanks to this, Orange customers who have a terminal adapted to these technologies will be able to enjoy the best coverage at any time 4G / 4G + or Wi-Fi, also for calls, automatically. Only Orange customers can, for example, make calls in places where GSM coverage does not arrive, such as cellars or interiors of large buildings, if they have any Wi-Fi network.
In addition, the call is almost instantaneous and users can download data at maximum speed at all times, allowing for example use Google Maps or watch a video at 4G + speed while talking on the phone. And all this with complete security and quality calls.These technologies are also the basis for future multimedia communications services such as IP Video Call.
In the coming weeks Orange customers will have more compatible phones and, with any of them, they can also start automatically enjoying these improvements in the network without any additional cost. They do not have to contract any additional service, it is sufficient to have a contract rate, and the latest software version of the phone. Calls are billed as any call.
