Mobile phone roaming charges within the EU were officially quashed on June 15th for all EU and EEA member states, leaving Swiss customers, among others disadvantaged.
One of the possible reasons is that roaming charges were a lucrative business for Swiss companies, so they had “little interest” in joining the EU deal and Swiss citizens are stuck in paying roaming charges. There are some EU operators, for example Vodafone and Orange France, which have decided to treat Switzerland as part of the EU for roaming purposes.
